Dan Blank

In 2010 Dan Blank joined the Georgia Bulldogs as Assistant Coach and has over two decades of collegiate coaching experience.

Dan brings a wealth of coaching and recruiting experience and has had an extraordinary amount of success at the collegiate level,” head coach Steve Holeman said. “He is an accomplished coach with an impressive résumé, and we are excited to have him on board.”

Blank has enjoyed a wealth of coaching success at many levels of soccer. Prior to joining the Bulldogs, Blank assisted UGA Head Coach Steve Holeman for three years at Ole Miss.  In 2009 he led the Ole Miss defense to the best goals-against average in the SEC and then repeated the feat a season later with the Georgia defense.  Before joining the Rebel staff in 2007, he spent nine years as the head women’s coach at Embry-Riddle University after building the program from scratch in 1998. A three-time Florida Sun Conference Coach of the Year and NAIA Region 14 Coach of the Year, Blank compiled a 98-61-8 record and guided the Eagles to three conference titles, three NAIA Region XIV titles and three NAIA national tournament appearances.

Before his time at Embry-Riddle, Blank spent three seasons as head coach of the nationally ranked Brewton-Parker College women’s program where he amassed a 47-13-3 record. He led the Barons to two NAIA tournament berths and three league titles, earning Georgia Athletic Conference Coach of the Year plaudits each season. The Barons were ranked as high as fourth nationally all three years.

Prior to his tenure at Brewton-Parker, Blank served for three years as assistant coach for Wheeling Jesuit College, helping that program to three national tournament berths and three regional and district titles.

Blank has also had success on the semi-pro level, having served as an assistant coach and assistant general manager for the USL W-League’s Atlanta Classics from 1997-98 and head coach of the Jacksonville Jade in 2001 and 2002, leading that franchise to its first winning record.

Blank has helped produce more than 25 collegiate All-Americans and numerous NAIA Scholar-Athletes and Academic All-America picks. He holds a USSF "A" License and an advanced national diploma from the NSCAA.

Blank played his collegiate soccer at Bethany College (W. Va.), where he earned a bachelor’s degree in communications in 1991. At Bethany he played under coaching legend Graham Ramsay and helped the Bison to four straight NCAA Division III Tournament berths.
